    • How security risks translate into threats for APEX applications.
  • Access Control (60 minutes)
    • Applying Authentication and Authorisation consistently throughout an APEX application.
    • Exploitation of poorly implemented access-control.
  • Cross-Site Scripting (60 minutes)
    • Explanation of root-cause for Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) issues.
    • Discussion of XSS in popular Internet sites and media attention.
    • XSS vulnerabilities taken from real-world APEX applications.
    • Step-by-step guidance on preventing the most common types of XSS in APEX.
    • Exploitation of XSS to target an APEX user and steal sensitive information.
  • SQL Injection (60 minutes)
    • Examples of SQL Injection vulnerabilities taken from real-world APEX applications (substitution variables and dynamic SQL).
    • Demonstration of SQL Injection exploitation by “hacker” to gain access to data within the database, access application source, attack operating system.
  • Using ApexSec to secure APEX applications (15 minutes)
    • Overview on ApexSec security analysis.
  • Summary and questions (30 minutes)
    • Open forum for questions and answers on APEX security issues.

For each of the three vulnerabilities types real-world examples will demonstrate how vulnerabilities can arise within your APEX applications. Using standard hacker techniques Recx will show how these problems can be leveraged to attack APEX application data and users. Detailed discussion of secure coding practices will help you can avoid these threats in your APEX applications.
